I am at SuperComputing 07 and just gave an invited talk on "The Web as the Platform for Research" at the Grid Computing Environments (GCE) workshop. I don't think I did the best job possible at the presentation but I am in the process of evolving the ideas and how they get glued together. As we start seeing more great things from the Technical Computing @ Microsoft activities, the story will be clearer.
